The Caianiello's Best PhD Thesis Award is devoted to young scholars who have completed their PhD thesis within three-calendar years preceding the WIRN current meeting.

The award is named after Prof. Eduardo R. Caianiello, founder of SIREN (Società Italiana Reti Neuroniche) in 1989 and pioneer of neural networks and computational neuroscience in Italy.

To be eligible for the competition the topic of the thesis must be among those presented in the current annual WIRN's call for paper.

Application Requirements

The application should include:

  • A PDF file of the thesis
  • An extended abstract
  • List of relevant publications associated to the thesis
  • Candidate's CV

The nomination documents should be submitted in one ARCHIVE trough WETRANSFER to the PhD committee:

Deadlines & Eligibility

Theses defended between June 1 2024 and May 30 2026.

The deadline for the submissions is April 30 2026.

Prizes

The 1st and 2nd prizes will be presented at the WIRN conference meeting and is accompanied by a free registration at WIRN meeting equivalent to 250 Euro including the social dinner.
